Last of the Doors!

Last of the Doors! , originally uploaded by Music Man5.
Two years of work is now complete. Wow, where did the time go?

While my neighbor was doing this I spent the same amount of time cleaning the exhaust fan from my shop. What a mess.

a pretty sunrise that did not last long

I could not even walk to the top of this hill before clouds moved in and changed the sky to overcast! Bummer. Should have hopped in the car instead!

RAW Deathmatch: LR3 vs DxO 6 vs Capture One vs Bibble 5

Found this interesting article this morning and thought I'd pass it along. RAW Deathmatch

I have used all of these except Capture One and would agree with the reviewers conclusion.

B/W testing

B/W testing , originally uploaded by Music Man5.
I was curious as to how well the monochrome picture style on the 5D worked. This is one of my test shots.

So if I want to shoot b/w portraits is it better to shoot color and create the B/W copy in Lightroom or is it better to shoot in monochrome?

DxO Optics Pro version 6

There is a new version of DxO Optics Pro currently available. I have downloaded the free trial version and I must admit it is very impressive.

I have always been a DxO Optics Pro fan but previous versions were so darned slow. When I shoot an event I might have 300-500 images to process and previous versions were just too slow for that many images.

I have not tested version 6 on a high number of images yet as I have not done a shoot with a lot of photos lately. But I did take 20 photos and ran them through versions 6 and 5.4. Version 6 was done in less than half the time 5.4 took and a few minutes faster than Lightroom. (Bibble 5 still beat them all though.)

You still cannot beat DxO for perspective and lens correction and now they have added an automatic exposure tool to handle photos taken under the most difficult lighting conditions.

Click HERE to go to their website and download your free trial. I highly recommend it.

Metal Prints are here!!!!

We are pleased to announce that we can now offer you "MetalPrints" as an option for your photos. We have been using these for our photos for awhile now and they are stunning. It is an eye-popping way to display your favorite images.

Look over the following for more information about MetalPrints.

(click on the image for a larger view.)

MetalPrints™ represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. The high gloss coating takes on an almost magical luminescence. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, the archival qualities of this unique process are unparalleled. You've never seen a more brilliant impressive print before! Colors are vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. Detail and resolution are unsurpassed. To compliment this unique printing method, we have also developed a variety of ultra-modern ways to hang and display your Metal Prints.

Durable archival prints without glass

Brilliant luminescent images

Ultra-Hard scratch-resistant surface

Waterproof/weatherproof

Can be cleaned easily with any commercial glass cleaner

If there is a Music Man5 Photo image that you would like to order in MetalPrint just contact us through the website and we can make it happen for you.

Found a interesting tool called Mosaic Maker. You can make collages using your Flickr photos. Works fairly well.
