Green Screen fun
check out this short video
A short video showing how green screen portraits can be a lot of fun. (These would have been more fun if my models had legs!!) When you contact us about your portrait session be sure to ask about using the green screen in your session!!!
Botero Chroma Key background in action
This Botero may be the best one I own. It opens up perfectly flat and the color is perfect. The wrinkles you see here are caused by the way I clamped it into the BG stand.

Viveza 2 landscape

Viveza 2 landscape, originally uploaded by Music Man5.
This sunset was rather plain so I added a little color using Viveza 2.
tools of summer

Grass trimmers, Car Duster, paint stripper and cigars! I love it.
This was an available light shot that I took in sRAW so I could tweak the white balance. Other than that I did not change anything.

Egypt again for Debra (she likes the climate)

Egypt again for Debra (she likes the climate), originally uploaded by Music Man5.
Shot this with an Alien Bee 1600 (as I needed to overpower the Egyptian sun!) and a Cowboy Studios Halo. Debra is going home from here to take a short break before she heads out again!
LensProToGo walk 6

LensProToGo walk 6, originally uploaded by Music Man5.
I'm told by my mentors that I don't write enough in my blogs. So I'll work on that.
The title for this post (and others), LensProToGo Walk, was to document my first Sunday morning stroll of 2010 that I took with my 2 new favorite lenses. (The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II and the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO.) I purchase both of these lenses used from the good folks at LensProToGo.com. I have rented lenses from LensProToGo as well and I highly recommend them.
As when I shoot an event when I go for a walk I take 2 cameras. I like to go wide on one and telephoto on the other. Well these two lenses are perfect for this.
This photo was taken with the 70-300mm and I was about six feet from the flower bed when I took this. I suspect this photo will be in my next book, that's how much I like it.
More later!

LensProToGo walk 3

LensProToGo walk 3, originally uploaded by Music Man5.
An early morning photo of Normal, IL taken with the new (to me) 16-35mm. A sweet lens and LensProToGo.com gave me a great deal on it.

one of the first shots with.....
Just picked up a used copy of the the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This is called an ultra wide lens and as you can see in this shot it certainly is that.
I'm hoping this lens will be an asset photographing marching bands and your events. So far I really like it.
Thanks to my friends at LensProToGo.com for selling me this lens. The lens, the box and even the hood look like they are brand new. Thanks Paul.

Testing NIK Silver Efex Pro
I tweaked this conversion to get the 'look' I wanted. Very easy to do. I think this plugin will be on my wish list very soon.

CowboyStudio 33" Brolly Box
This is my second CowboyStudios modifier and I love them both. (The other is a 43" halo.) My studio is small so I like modifiers that work well in a smaill spaces, which this one certainly does. The light produced is great and the price was excellent.
Construction is good but I would not use my CowboyStudio modifiers outside and they are just not heavy duty enough.
Check it out here:CowboyStudio 33" Black White Black/White Reflector Photo Studio Brolly Box

My new LaCie 324 monitor
I should have left the old Dell monitor sitting there so you could see how huge the LaCie is. Great color right out of the box but needs a little tweaking.
